AMETRINE.
Ametrine is an elusive crystal which connects the spiritual realms of Amethyst with the very physical manifestation energy of Citrine. Ametrine is thought to provide Divine Guidance to the barer, helping them trust their inner GPS to chart a clear path through their spiritual learnings and practices. The combination of these crystals activates your hippocampus, the creative part of your brain, and allows you to creatively problem-solve your way out of tricky situations. Ametrine has the benefits of Amethyst for sleep, chill vibes and expansion of the Crown Chakra, as well as Citrine for good fortune and abundance. Keep a piece by your bed so that you can manifest in your dreams.
Ametrine is rare because it only forms under certain conditions so the supply of this type of quartz crystal is limited. Ametrine is created when oxidised iron is present within an unoxidised Amethyst crystal with fluctuations in temperature creating the zoning of purple Amethyst and yellow Citrine. Ametrine is found in Bolivia, specifically the Anahi Mine which is one of the few sources of natural Ametrine due to its volcanic activity and iron deposits producing some of the highest quality material. Ametrine of varying qualities can also be found in Brazil, the US, India, and Canada.

Buyer’s Guide to Ametrine
Private Buyers
When I am buying Ametrine I am always looking for strong colours and good zoning. By this I mean you can clearly see the separate areas of purple and yellow in the crystal. Ametrine can be found in low grade and high grade - the higher the grade the more zoning, deep colours and clarity the specimen will have. My personal preference is polished as you can see the colours more clearly. If you are looking for a cabinet specimen then Bolivian Ametrine would be your go-to choice.
Retail Buyers
With Ametrine opt for what you can afford. It is good to stock some but it doesn’t necessarily have to be Grade A quality. As long as the colour is good BUT you must check that each piece has good zoning of purple Amethyst and yellow Citrine. You will get returns and complaints if you sell pieces that don’t show both colours clearly. Dollar coin size seems to be the optimal seller in terms of margin and customer popularity.
