The Gentle Healer

Golden Healer Quartz is a relatively high-vibration crystal, although not quite as buzzy as Clear Quartz. It's like the Iron that it contains has asked the Quartz to just calm the fu*k down. This makes for a more gentle, healing, and harmonizing crystal. It helps you to release energy blockages and stagnant ick within your body. Golden Healer Quartz is connected to the Solar Plexus Chakra promoting inner strength, confidence, and fresh hope. It is a discreet little bodyguard, protecting you from external harm as well as from yourself - banishing negative thinking and reminding you to practice self-forgiveness. While Golden Healer Quartz is not the best crystal for manifestation, it can be used to help draw blessings of abundance to you in a more chilled way.

Golden Healer Quartz gets its bright golden, yellow hue from deposits of Iron Oxide. The name Golden Healer Quartz refers to two different types which are formed in slightly different ways:

Massive Habitat Golden Healer Quartz

When the crystal was formed water rich in Iron Oxide seeped into thin fissures, infusing the crystal structure. You will see different levels of colour ranging from pale yellow and gold to yellowish browns depending on the amount of Iron Oxide which was deposited deep within the crystal. This process would have taken hundreds if not thousands of years. Most of the Golden Healer Quartz on the market is formed as a “massive” habitat (huge blocks) and mined in Madagascar or Brazil, however, you will see big quantities coming out of the polishing centres in China. You will usually see this type carved into spheres, palm stones, towers etc.

Prismatic Golden Healer Quartz

These are Golden Healer Quartz naturally formed points. These are created when water rich in Iron Oxide fills pockets of “prismatic” crystals coating and bonding to the surface of the crystal. You will find deposits of this type in the US, Brazil, and South Africa. These tend to look more orange-yellow in colour.

Buyer’s Guide to Golden Healer Quartz

Private Buyers

When you are buying Golden Healer Quartz it will come down to personal taste and intended function. The level of golden yellow and brown colouring you prefer will generally dictate the crystal you will choose, one will call to you. If you intend to use it for meditation then a palm stone works best, for interior decoration an XL sphere or tower would be my personal preference. Because it is such a personal choice try to buy in person if you can, but if you have to buy from a webshop or Etsy double check if you will receive the crystal in the image. You can always ask vendors to send you pictures so you can make a choice. Always check for damage, due to the large amount of natural fissures in this type of Quartz there can be small chips or divots out of the crystal.

If you are buying for advanced spiritual work, for crystal grids, or are a specimen collector then a prismatic natural crystal point would be best. Some pieces come from the Lemurian mines in the Sierra Do Cabral mountains, Minas Gerais, Brazil which are much sought after so check for the origin of your crystal and if it has the typical Lemurian “barcode” markings.

Retail Buyers

You can’t go too far wrong with Golden Healer Quartz as a retailer but size does matter, not too big and not too small. Both “massive” habitat carved pieces and “prismatic” natural points will generally sell consistently well, with their golden hue and metaphysical properties making them popular.

Palm stones will be the bestseller, followed by Towers and Spheres. Freeforms and Flames do sell but seem to take longer to shift. Anything taller than 10-12cm will be more expensive and will again take a lot longer to sell. Small tumbles never seemed too popular, people wanted to see a little more of the internal structure and patternation so the palm stones would always outperform the tumbles.

Avoid carved skulls, the colourful veining in the Quartz can lead to them look extremely “messy” making it hard to distinguish the skull's features clearly. This makes them hard to photograph if you are selling online. If you do want some skulls try to find some that are a bit cleaner with more Clear Quartz visible and patches of Iron Oxide.

If you are buying from a wholesaler aim to pay around 30 EUR / $34 per Kg for massive habitat polished Golden Healer Quartz, add a small premium to that if it’s gone through the Chinese polishing centres.

Points can be imported directly from Brazil and will cost about 1-3 EURO per piece, expect to retail for 8-20 EUR depending on size. I found Minec to be a trustworthy and high-quality dealer in Brazil. They are always happy to answer any questions. Here’s their Golden Healers >>
