HALITE.
The Closer
Halite is the ultimate closer. It will help you close that deal, close down that shitty friend, and make that move. Halite is aligned with the Heart Chakra, opening you up to self-love and pursuing a deeper understanding of your true desires. Start charting your life path now, don’t keep accepting the status quo, challenge yourself, challenge others, and make the most out of your life. Time to ditch the bitch, finish that to-do list, and let go of toxic guilt. Halite will get you prepped and psyched to make your new life happen. For the spiritually practising peeps, Halite is also a purifying crystal, great for aura work, and bringing powerfully positive energy into a space.
Halite is the mineral form of salt forming through an evaporation process into interesting isometric crystals. Even the name Halite comes from the ancient Greek word ἅλς meaning salt. Halite can be found in many locations around the world, with particularly large deposits in the US, Canada, and Pakistan. Most Halite is colourless or white but when there are other minerals or decaying organic matter present this can affect the colour creating beautiful hues of pink, yellow, grey, blue, orange, and red. Some places are known for particularly stunning formations such as salt domes in Texas, Spain, Denmark, and Romania. Iran has salt domes and salt glaciers, fibrous Halite comes from France, cubic Halite from Germany and Poland, and stalactites of curly Halite are found in Australia. My favourite is pink Halite with skeletal, pyramid-shaped “hopper crystals,” the majority of which come from evaporated salt lakes in California.

Buyer’s Guide to Halite
Private Buyers
When you are buying Halite quality is everything. Look for undamaged pieces with interesting crystal formations. Shopping in-person? Halite is pronounced “hay-lyte.”
I would opt for something special, like the Pink Halite above. The formation of the crystals looks like the skeletal remains of cubes, with step patternation on each. Prices range depending on the size and quality of the crystals. The majority that I have seen on the market come from Searles Lake or Owens Lake in California. You can usually find these online, and Etsy usually has quite a good selection.
If you would like to start a little Halite specimen collection then add a colourless, transparent cubic Halite from Germany or Poland, a fibrous stalactite on a little acrylic stand (they look best standing), or if you have the time to source it and the money, a high-quality blue cube of Halite from New Mexico (there are some ok-ish ones on Etsy) but beware of fake ones from China, at minimum check where they are being shipped from. The Blue Halite below is purchased from Stone Age Minerals (NL), their Instagram is @stone_age_minerals.

Retail Buyers
Pink. Just buy Pink. It will sell.
All sizes of pink Halite pieces will sell but try to limit to a max of $200 retail price for quick turnover. Look for excellent crystal structures and be aware if you are buying flats of this material that you may end up with some poorer quality pieces, just discard these or give them away as gifts rather than disappoint customers (The most boujee spiritual bath bomb ever - a piece of Pink Halite).
If you are putting these online to sell ensure the customer understands if the crystal in the picture will be the crystal that they receive to avoid disappointment, returns, and customer service discussions. Always include care instructions with these crystals - these should not come into contact with water or they will start dissolving. You will need to pack these very carefully, plenty of toilet paper, then tissue, then bubble wrap, maybe even double box it. If you aren’t prepared to drop kick the package you haven’t packed it well enough.
When you are displaying Halite in a retail store pop it on a stand to give some elevation and show off the crystal structure. Put this one behind glass where people can’t handle it as this will cause damage to the crystal. Keep it away from water, never wash it, and store it somewhere dry as humidity and dampness will damage the crystal.
Quick Guide | Halite
Zodiac: Halite is associated with the zodiac signs Cancer and Pisces.
Ruling Planet: The ruling celestial body for Halite is the Moon.
Chakra: Halite is associated with the Heart (Anahata) Chakra.
Element: Halite is aligned with the elements of Air and Water.
Crystal Charging: Halite can be charged overnight under a Full Moon or in the darkness and magic of a New Moon. Placing Halite on Selenite will also help to give it a gentle energy cleanse. Do not use water to cleanse or charge your crystal.
Crystal Elixir: Halite is a form of sodium chloride which is salt. This means that when you add the crystal to water it will dissolve and change the water to salt water which should NOT be consumed by humans.
Crystal Care: Halite will completely dissolve in water so do not get your crystal wet. It is also pretty fragile so if you need to clean it then use a very soft, long bristle, make-up brush/paintbrush which isn’t too dense and very gently dust it off. Do not keep your Halite in a damp or humid environment, the bathroom is a no-no. Handle your delicate Halite as little as possible to avoid damage or corrosion from the water and minerals in your skin.
